The Art of Piano studio calendar follows the example of university-based community music schools. The academic year is divided into fall and spring terms starting in August and January. A flexible summer session is also offered about every other year. If there are openings available, new students may begin lessons after the term has begun; their tuition will be prorated.

Each private lesson incudes an additional 30-minute or longer session in the student computer lab immediately after or before the lesson.

Lesson scheduling takes place on the Saturday before the beginning of fall semesters, and the week before spring semesters and summer sessions, based on students' preferences and teacher availability. Early registrations will be given special consideration when selecting lesson time. However, exact lesson days and times will not be available until scheduling is completed.

Fall Semester 2011

Trial lessons and interviews: May 31-June 9 & August 8-19

Registration deadline: Friday, August 19, 8 p.m.*

Scheduling day: Saturday, August 20

Fall semester beings: Monday, August 22

Holidays:
Labor Day Holiday: Monday, September 5
Thanksgiving Break: Tuesday-Friday, November 22-25

Term ends: Friday, December 16

Number of weeks in term: 17
Number of lessons in term: 16

Pre-registration deadline for Spring 2011: Friday, December 2

*New students may start lesson during the semester if spaces are available but will have to choose lesson times from those remaining available after the semester schedule is prepared.
